Islamic Bank of Thailand or iBank by Dr. Thaweelap Rittapirom, Director and President Participated in the activity and welcomed leaders of the diplomatic corps from Muslim countries and senior executives on the 2nd day of the activity to enhance understanding and build relations with the diplomatic corps of Muslim countries for the year 2024, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs​ Together with the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center, here were 12 ambassadors from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation participating in the activity at TK Park Yala (Yala Learning Park), Yala Province, on June 12, 2024.

Dr. Thaweelap then had the opportunity to introduce the Islamic Bank of Thailand to the diplomatic team through an exhibition that showed the Bank's role in economic and social development in the five southern border provinces in various contexts, such as solving economic problems in grassroots level that does not have access to financial institutions The bank has implemented this through the Honest Community Project. which is driven by mosque leaders to reach the community. In the year 2023, The Bank has supported the Honest Community Project for mosques in the five southern border provinces, a total of 343 mosques, in the amount of 155 million baht, for the purpose of creating careers for devotees in the community and reducing reliance on informal loans that would cause Social problems follow. In addition, the bank also performs duties in managing Zakat according to Section 12 of the Islamic Banking Act of Thailand B.E. 2002, which stipulates that the bank "Manage Zakat Account" which in the past year Bank Zakat Subcommittee Zakat money has been allocated from those responsible for paying it. to those who are entitled to receive Zakat according to religious law Whether it is a needy person or a poor person, there are 4 types of scholarships: occupational scholarships, scholarships, living scholarships, and Zakat fund initial scholarships. A total of 209 scholarships were given to Muslim brothers and sisters within the country, totaling 1,687,000 baht. For improving the quality of life in public health The bank has provided loan support to private hospitals so that people in the three southern border provinces have options to access public health with modern medical technology. As well as supporting loans to Halal entrepreneurs and promoting their potential to export to other OIC countries, resulting in employment, which will also reduce the chance of violent situations in the area.
